Bacacay Wedding Essentials: Documents, documents

The following are the documents we need to prepare for our “sakalan”:
1 Birth Certificate
2 Baptismal Certificate
3 Confirmation Certificate
4. CENOMAR

These 4 are the most important docs we need to have in order to apply for a Marriage License. Along with these, we need to prepare our list of Principal Sponsors (3 pairs is enough).

Before having our wedding date registered with our Parish, we will also be interviewed first by our Parish Priest (Canonical Interview). Mama told me I have to prep up and learn the basic prayers – the Lord’s Prayer, Hail Mary, Glory Be,  etc. My bes GDL also warned me that the priest may ask if we know the Holy Rosary and also ask us how many times we went to Church within the year.

Then, once we’re registered in the Church, done with the Canonical Interviews and our Marriage License is in the works,  we also need to have our Wedding Banns published and attend the Pre-Cana Seminar.

So, tomorrow we start with getting our birth certificates and CENOMAR in the NSO Provincial Office in Albay, prepare our Baptismal and Confirmation Certificates and start brainstorming to identify who our Principal Sponsors will be. We’ve got our work pretty much cut out for us.
